SF Camerawork: founded in 1974, this organization promotes photography through its gallery exhibits, bookstore, lectures and other events, and publications.

Foto-Grafix Books: formerly the Friends of Photography bookstore, this source of photography manuals, books, and gifts is now independently owned.

Fotovision is a Bay Area nonprofit created to support photographers interested in documenting their world. Their mission is to advance documentary photography and storytelling.
